INSURANCE for your
COPYRIGHT ?
The British Library copyright section will NOT accept
an unpublished copyright registration - and is still saying today,
"The moment you write/design/record or anything - it automatically
becomes YOUR COPYRIGHT". Well of course it does - but who
cares ?
They'll
just say that they thought of it before you did
SO, if someone thieves your idea - then the battle
immediately becomes psychological - as well as factually based...
Because company lawyers may delay THREE WEEKS or so between LETTERS
to put you off - and may also sniff disdainfully at your registered
letter you posted to yourself - or to anyone else - even if it
was a solicitor who charged you a fee...And of course the costs
of Court action are horrendous and may take up to three years
That's why you may decide - if you can afford it -
you might like the extra protection - and which is also
a psychological WORRY FACTOR for thieves - which you cannot
get in the UK or EC - But you CAN get in the USA. And this includes
FULLY INTERNATIONAL protection including in your own country -
built in ! Because the USA is a Signatory to the International
Protocol on Patents and Copyright. Which, in turn, means the rest
of the World must recognise your copyright-registration
and your dated-receipt from the USA Library of Congress....
" So what..?'", you
ask ?
Well - apart from having an impeccable receipt from
a major USA legal entity - you can clamp your friendly THIEVES'
OVERSEAS WHEELS. Present them with a potentially dangerous
legal quagmire if they try to profit ALSO from the USA or any
other World market -- and of course such extra thefts are worth
many multiples in value more than any local domestic market to
Broadcasters. For instance, here's the BBC

Of course the USA legal system
also makes it much easier to sue persons and corporations
like broadcasters and TV production companies - and do it on
a 'no-win no-fee' basis.
Some North American lawyers also love the Tabloid
publicity attached to TV - which may also help him or
her to win you a settlement before the case comes to court - and
which will inevitably be followed by more bad USA
publicity if they lose the case - or even if they win it - because
mud sticks.
And the FINAL JOY about
this ploy is this, that if you HAVE registered copyright IN THE
USA - then you can forget about UK LAWYERS - and go STRAIGHT INTO
SUEING THROUGH USA BRANCH-OFFICES OF UK BROADCASTERS !! AND THERE
ARE HUNDREDS OF GOOD USA LAWYERS WHO WILL WORK ON A 'NO WIN -
NO FEE' BASIS. With alacrity !!
REMEMBER THAT. Because
