A year or so went by and then it was ITV Network's turn to broadcast my 'WINDFALL' format - cunningly called 'FIND A FORTUNE' this time. But by then it was also the BBC's own Broadcast Copyright (a different class of copyright) But did anyone care ? Apparently not...well that's TV for you. I also noticed a familiar name/credit on the new Granada version - as he was also on the original BBC version credits. So I had both sets off-air recordings.... And I still held my own copyright. My original 1994 master-script which was fully provenanced by an attached and dated handwritten note from Grundy International !
This time I hand-delivered three very detailed letters with identical text, letters, and taped conversations with Grundy International from bugging my own phone. One complete set went to Director of Television ITC, one to M.D. of ITV Network and the third to Gerry Robinson, Chairman of Granada Group plc, which in turn owned the new producers Granada Television...
I resisted an offer from ITV Network Headquarters to use their brand new "Code of Best Practice" (LINK) - having already read an advance copy sent me by a journalist at the Sunday Times....I had already written to everyone involved.
